Here are a couple more shop pictures you may find interesting. One is of a new soundboard being installed into the rim. The other is of two cast iron plates (stringing frames) being painted. It is always enjoyable to restore the appearance of the cast iron plates. After painting, all lettering and other surface ornamentation will be recreated by hand painting. Once the plate is installed into the rim, over-top a new soundboard, the piano becomes aesthetically wonderful. Later this summer I’ll be able to show you this.
